Islam Research Groups

The Islam research groups bring together senior scholars in the field of Islamic studies and focus on theoretical and empirical research on Islam in the Israeli context. Their work addresses Islamic theology, religious leadership, communal structures, and the intersections of religion, society, and politics. The groups combine close textual analysis of classical and contemporary sources with fieldwork and engagement with relevant actors. Later this year, a special journal issue presenting the group’s research outputs is expected to be published, reflecting the depth and diversity of the scholarly discussions developed within the group.
