Serves as Chairman of the Druze Religious Council in the Ministry of Justice, as Qadi of the Druze Court of Appeals and as its President since 2016.

Sheikh Tarif is a graduate of the Druze School of Theology, “al-Bayada” in Lebanon, and a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Ono Academic Center.

In 2010, Sheikh Tarif was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Haifa University. In 2018 he was chosen to light a torch to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel.
