Rishona Fine is a PhD student in the Folklore and Folk Culture Studies program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, mentored by Dr. David Rotman. Her research focuses on the evolving folk culture of the Bene Israel community following its migration to Israel. She is part of the Mandel Scholion interdisciplinary research group on “In Between: Traces of Migration.” Her work examines the “Miracle Sukkah” ritual as a unique expression of the community’s migration and assimilation processes.
