Cohort 2023-24<\/strong>
\n<\/strong>
\nInterwined Worlds is Haifa Peer Program for the Study of Interfaith<\/span>
Dynamics. The program is a framework for researchers from a <\/span>
variety of disciplinary backgrounds in their PhD studies, whose research <\/span>
focuses on interfaith issues. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The program seeks to promote studies that <\/span>
focus on various aspects of interfaith encounters in any disciplinary field <\/span>
through a series of annual meetings, tours, panels with religious men and <\/span>
women and a concluding international conference.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The program’s primary goal is to create a dynamic and supportive<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

community for early-stage researchers from various disciplines focusing <\/span>
on interfaith communications. In this context, the program places special <\/span>
emphasis on interdisciplinary dialog, cross-interactions and inspecting <\/span>
theories vis-a-vis case studies from the field. Furthermore, the program is <\/span>
committed to the advancement of Religious Studies in Israel through the <\/span>
creation of a dedicated framework for researchers in the field.<\/span><\/div>\n


\n<\/p>\n

\u00a0program seeks to promote interdisciplinary research approaches in<\/span>The\u00a0
religious studies by bringing together PhD candidates from diverse <\/span>
academic backgrounds, including Sociology, Anthropology, Theology, <\/span>
History and Philosophy; and combining different methodologies, <\/span>
perspectives and theories in research.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n


The program’s originality is manifested, among other things, in the <\/span>
practical experience it provides fellow participants. Contact with religious <\/span>
communities and religious leaders is of great importance for religious <\/span>
research. By producing meaningful interactions and dialogue between <\/span>
fellows, religious leaders and communities, the program strives to bridge <\/span>
the gap between academia and real life. Such involvement should enrich <\/span>
the fellows’ research and contribute to understanding and cooperation <\/span>
between academia and Israeli religious communities.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
