Archbishop Yosef Mata
From Eilabun, is the archbishop of the Greek
Catholic community (Melkite) of the Galilee, Nazareth, Northern Samaria,
Acre and Haifa. Archbishop Mata is a graduate of Computer Science
Studies at the Technion.
After graduation he turned to Religious Studies at
a Beit Jala Seminary, near Bethlehem. He held many positions in the
church in Galilee, and continued his studies in Rome, where he received
his PhD.
He served as a teacher at the Theological school of the Greek
Catholic Patriarchate in Lebanon, and from 2013 he was the Assistant to
the Head of the Greek Catholic Community in Nazareth.
