Public Committee

The spiritual leader of the Druze community in Israel. Born in Julis and the successor of his grandfather - Sheikh Amin Tarif.

Serves as Chairman of the Druze Religious Council in the Ministry of Justice, as Qadi of the Druze Court of Appeals and as its President since 2016.

Sheikh Tarif is a graduate of the Druze School of Theology, "al-Bayada" in Lebanon, and a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Ono Academic Center.

In 2010, Sheikh Tarif was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Haifa University. In 2018 he was chosen to light a torch to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel.
