Dr. Alaa Abu-Rukun has earned a PhD in Middle East studies from Bar Ilan University and serves as the Head of the Aerospace & Defense Sector at Deloitte Israel.
He also holds the rank of brigadier general in the reserves, with his most recent role being the military secretary to the Israeli president.
Abu-Rukun started his career as a combat soldier and commander in the Parachute Patrol, and he has served as an IDF attaché in China and Mongolia.
Throughout his diverse service, he has commanded "Havat Hashomer." Beyond his military and professional achievements, Abu-Rukun is engaged in various social and community associations, focusing on education for life in a multicultural environment.
He is the chairman of the Dokifat Foundation for Nature Conservation and Ornithology. Alaa Abu-Rochen is married to Nasrin and is a father of four, residing in Isfiya.
