Islamic Authenticity in Israel
The research group “Islamic Authenticity in Israel: Analyzing Regional and Local Factors, Development Processes, and Unique Characteristics of Islamic Agendas in Israel” represents a groundbreaking collaboration between Al-Qasemi College and the Haifa Laboratory for Religious Studies at the University of Haifa. Through monthly seminars hosted alternately by these institutions, we aim to delve into the complexities of Islamic identity, legal traditions, and cultural expressions unique to Israel’s Muslim communities. By fostering rigorous academic dialogue, the group seeks to shed light on the interplay between local influences and broader Islamic thought.
We are proud to contribute to the academic understanding of how Islam evolves in specific cultural and political contexts and hope to conclude this year with a significant academic conference and publication. This initiative reflects our commitment to advancing scholarly discourse on religion and society while building bridges between diverse academic and community perspectives.
