Dr. Marva Shalev Marom is a senior research fellow at the Haifa Laboratory for Religious Studies, specializing in interreligious educational initiatives. She earned her PhD at Stanford Graduate School of Education, at the concentration for Education and Jewish Studies (EdJS) and Race Inequality and Language in Education (RILE) under the supervision of Prof. Ari Y. Kelman.
Her dissertation, titled "Both Sides Now: Ethiopian Israeli GIrls Between Jewishness and Blackness," is a community-based exploration of Jewish education in Israel, as experienced by religious students of Ethiopian descent. Marva is an educational entrepreneur, with almost two decades of experience working in music education with diverse communities in Israel. She is the host of Tel Aviv Radio renowned podcast series, The Pluralist (2024), which explores diverse Jewish identities and traditions in light of the turbulent Israeli present.
