Mrs. Sawsan Kheir

Mrs. Sawsan Kheir is a double-degree doctoral candidate at the School of Psychological Sciences at the University of Haifa and the Study of Religions at Åbo Akademi University, Finland. She holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Psychology from the University of Haifa.

Her dissertation research focuses on contemporary negotiations of modernization in the religiosities of young adult Muslim and Druze students in Israel.

She has coauthored several international publications on religious studies among minority students in Israel.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as a Co-PI for the international research project "Meaning-Making, Agency, and Worldviews during the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Comparative Study," conducted in Israel, Finland, and Turkey. Currently, she is

leading the "Navigating Cultural Change: Intersecting Religion and Gender among the Druze Community" research project at the Haifa Laboratory for Religious Studies.
