Prof. Guy (Gedalyah ) Stroumza is Emeritus Professor of the Martin Buber
Chair at the Hebrew University and former Head of the Chair for the Study
of Abrahamic Religions at the University of Oxford.
Member of Lady Margaret Hall and Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
Prof. Stroumza founded the Center for the Study of Christianity at the Hebrew
University and was its first Director. Holder of an Honorary Doctorate from
the University of Zurich for the study of the Roots of European Spirituality
and the Alexander von Humblest Award-winner.
His research focuses, among other things, on the dynamics of encounters between religious
traditions and institutions in the Roman Empire and Late Antiquity, in the
Mediterranean region and the Middle East.
