Prof. Ines Michalowski

Ines Michalowski, since 2019 Professor of Sociology of Religion at the Department of Sociology, University of Münster. Deputy Director of the Münster Cluster of Excellence Religion & Politics. Joint PhD (2007) from Sciences Po Paris (Centre de Sociologie des Organisations) and the University of Münster. 2008-2019 Research fellow at the Department of Migration, Integration and Transnationalization of the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. Visiting fellowships in Washington DC, Boston, Vienna and Paris.

Research interests: accommodation of religious diversity, organizational approaches to religious accommodation, international comparisons, religious and secular body politics, citizenship and national belonging. Recent publications include: Kanol, Eylem & Ines Michalowski. 2023.
