ותי אבליוביץ' היא חברת סגל בחוג לתיאטרון באוניברסיטת חיפה. מחקריה מתמקדים בהיסטוריה של התיאטרון היהודי במאות ה- 20-19. רותי הינה בעלת תואר שלישי בלימודי תיאטרון, מאוניברסיטת תל-אביב. בין השנים 2017-2014 היא היתה עמיתת פוסט-דוקטורט בתכנית עמיתי מרטין בובר באוניברסיטה העברית. בין שאר פרסומיה, ספרה שכותרתו Possessed Voices: Aural Remains from Modernist Hebrew Theatre ראה אור בהוצאת SUNY Press בשנת 2019. בשנת 2020 זכתה אבליוביץ במענק מחקר מטעם מועצת המחקר של האיחוד האירופאי (ERC StG) עבור פרויקט המחקר: Yiddish Popular Theatre 1880-1920: Performance as Knowledge.
